History as it Happens

Students’ Perspectives on the Pandemic

The COVID-19 global pandemic changed libraries’ regular means of sharing and has impacted all aspects of life for all ages. Brown County Library wants to gather and share students’ perspectives to document this challenging and important time.

We welcome students, ages 18 and under, to submit their creative works relating to life during the pandemic and quarantine to be posted online. Submissions could include written works—such as essays/personal narratives, speeches/commentary, short fiction or poetry—as well as 2D artwork (drawings, posters, photography, images of 3D artwork). Here are some prompts to spark your creativity and get you started.

Submission deadline is June 1, 2021. Library staff will review submissions, and you will be notified if/when your submission is posted online. This is a family-friendly project. Please ensure your work is appropriate for all ages viewing. We retain the right to decide which pieces will be included.

Please note that ONLY FIRST NAMES (no last names or addresses) will be published online.
