Last year over 5,000 disadvantaged children living in Brown County were given new books through the Give-A-Kid-A-Book Campaign coordinated by the Friends of Brown County Library. Your donation of a new book will make a difference this holiday season!
Did you know donations are accepted all year long?
Donations of new, unwrapped books for babies, children, or teens to age 18 can be dropped off at any Brown County Library at any time. Just let us know they are for Give-A-Kid-A-Book! Help every child discover the joy of receiving one’s very own book.
Literacy is vital to a child’s scholastic success, yet in Brown County, 38% of our lower income students are not reading at grade level in 3rd grade.

Thank You for Your Support – Past and Present!
Brown County Community Women’s Club, Nicolet National Bank and Packers Give Back for their generous donations that not only help underwrite expenses of the campaign including, but not exclusive to, promotional materials and book purchases, but they are also a wonderful statement of these organization’s commitment to and support of the importance of books in children’s lives. Thank you!
In 2019, over 10,000 books were collected from corporate and individual donors. The Lion’s Mouth Book Store provided discounts on Give-A-Kid-A-Book purchases and book fairs hosted by local businesses benefited Give-A-Kid-A-Book. Most of these books were distributed to thousands of local children during the holidays. The remaining books find their way into the hands of kids in the community through various Brown County programs that promote reading year round.
