Denmark Branch Hours Change as New School Year Begins

Since 1999, the Brown County Denmark Branch Library and Denmark High School have succeeded in jointly providing academic and public library service to school students and community members throughout and after the school day.

Because the security and safety of students is a high priority, the Denmark School District is implementing a new security system used during school hours that will scan IDs to run a background check before entry into the school building is permitted. Public libraries are governed by a state statute that mandates accessibility for all and protects the privacy and confidentiality of library users. While this means the library cannot require visitors to show ID in order to enter and use the library, the Denmark High School and Brown County Library remain committed to providing quality library service to the residents of Denmark. Modified public library hours beginning after the school day ends will go into effect on September 4, 2018.

Although school library staff will not be able to perform Brown County Library business transactions (including checkout, account information, and payments, etc.) during the school day or non-public library hours, Brown County Library will be open 4 evenings a week in order to maintain service to the Denmark community.

Effective September 4, 2018:

Monday 3:30 – 8:00 pm
Tuesday 3:30 – 6:30 pm
Wednesday 3:30 – 8:00 pm
Thursday 3:30 – 6:30 pm

An evening family storytime will be offered on Mondays beginning at 5:30 pm
