This exciting project was led by SEEDs for De Pere to educate the community about sustainability and renewable energy!

Education is the most effective means to make changes in the way we support sustainable development in our community to benefit ourselves and future generations.

SEEDs for De Pere raised funds for a 20-kilowatt solar-electric array (solar panels) for the roof of the Kress Family Branch Library as well an educational kiosk, and educational programs for all ages. This project makes the library the center for gaining knowledge on recycling, renewable energy and ecological issues. The project is saving thousands of dollars and is offsetting 49,000 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions – equivalent to burning 2,488 gallons of gasoline or 103,000 pounds of coal!
